Happy, Happy. Joy, Joy.
We have two TVs in our home that should have access to satellite- we pay
for both of them to have it. For a couple years we didn't connect the second TV
with our satellite for reasons that I can only describe as laziness. But since
most of the time the kids used the second TV for watching DVDs, we just didn't'
bother with it. However, we've been unhappy with the cost of our satellite TV
provider for a while now (duh- we're not utilizing the service enough for the
cost) but, they've officially lost our account. I know, I know, huge loss for
them. (sarcasm) We've been loyal customers since 2007.
Tyler and I decide we must connect the second TV to the
satellite and aditionally a small TV in our bedroom. He contacted our provider
to see about getting access to the third TV in our home. He was told that not
only was our receiver super outdated but that it was going to cost us nearly
$500 to "upgrade" to new
receivers to get the third TV access. We weren't requesting to upgrade, just
the third TV access but in order to get the additional hook-up, we had to upgrade. You can imagine how
well this went over with Tyler. He immediately called the competing satellite
company and explained our issue. They were happy to supply us with HD service
for all three TVs in our home. Not only that but they were $50 a month cheaper
than our old service and with that savings, we were able to afford internet
service at our house which will be installed on Friday. Super exciting, right?
Well, not really but Tyler sure is pumped.
After the install process with our new provider, I probably
received 10-15 texts about how great our new service was. 'On Demand TV shows
after Friday, talk about binge watching shows...it's gonna be awesome'. Oh my.
You can't even imagine when he got home from work how fast he was talking about
our 'bad ass' service. He was like a little child finally getting to enjoy a
long- awaited toy. I'll give it to him, the picture is so clear and being able
to record up to 5 programs at one time is a pretty nice thing. And in case we
can't agree on what to watch, we can always split up and watch in separate
rooms. Plus with this service, if a program is recording on one TV, you aren't
stuck watching it.
